A clinical study to evaluate the effects of varunadi kashaya and yavakshara in urolithiasis Array Section Original Research Articles

Abstract

                 Acharya sushruta said that before going for surgical procedure one should try with oral medication like ghrita, taila, paneeya kshara, which possesses properties such as chedan, bhedana, lekhana and mutrala  for facilitating the disintegration of the urinary stone and flush out from urinary system . Hence this clinical study is selected for the management of urolithiasis by treating the patient with Varunadi kashay and Yavakshar . With objective of study is to evaluate effect of varunadi kashay and yavakshar over Mutradaha, Sarakta mutrata, Pain in abdomen and Size of calculus.

                Varunadi kashay ( 400 ml ) and Yavakshar ( 10 gm ) was given to the 10 patients suffering from urolithiasis .The clinical symptoms like pain in abdomen, mutradaha, sarakta mutrata, size of calculus are  reduced by above treatment .
