Standardizing Svedan Karma is not just a theoretical need, but a practical, clinical, research, and legal necessity. With defined protocols, validated parameters, and objective outcome tools, Svedan can be practiced more safely, taught more clearly, and integrated more effectively into modern healthcare. Svedan Chikitsa, one of the prime modalities in Ayurveda, is traditionally employed to induce perspiration and promote internal heat, aiding in the management of Vata and Kapha dominant disorders. Rooted in classical references, Svedan acts by opening srotas (microchannels), softening doshas, and facilitating their excretion. However, in modern integrative healthcare systems, the therapeutic effects of Svedan need to be quantified using evidence-based methodologies.
This conceptual study aims to explore the thermogenic and sudorific (sweating) effects of Svedan Karma by correlating Ayurvedic principles with modern scientific tools. Techniques such as Digital Skin Contact Thermometry, Gravimetric Sweat Analysis, and physiological monitoring (BP, ECG) are discussed as objective parameters for assessing thermal distribution, sweat output, and systemic responses.
